Become a Trustee or a Volunteer

Goldington Reading and Recreation Rooms is a village hall for hire in Goldington, Bedford. It was built by local benefactors in 1904 for the benefit of local communities. The venue is run entirely by volunteers.
We are seeking Trustees and Volunteers to join us to ensure that the venue is well maintained and continues to be a welcoming space where Bedfordians can meet and enjoy a range of social, wellness and hobby activities.
👉 Are you a people person and like interacting with others?
👉 Is your interest in maintaining a period building with plenty of character?
👉 Are you well organised and always keep on top of things?
Then you may enjoy getting involved in some of the following areas:
• Bookings management
• Support to venue hirers on-site
• Compliance
• Governance
• Finance
• Marketing
• IT maintenance
• Fire safety and security
• Repairs and maintenance
• Improvements and modernisation
You do not need to have any specific education nor experience; all you need is willingness to dedicate some of your time to a worthy case.
We meet once a month for about 2 Hours (Tuesday evenings), when each of us report on their respective responsibilities, we discuss day-to-day operational issues and together we plan major improvements and maintenance works.
Being a volunteer and a trustee offers you an opportunity to hone your existing skills and learn new ones, to gain invaluable experience and make new friends.
If this is something you think you’d enjoy doing, then please email us at enquiries@goldingtoreadingrooms.com and let us know a bit about yourself, what motivates you to become a volunteer or a trustee and what particular area you’d be interested in getting involved.
We look forward to hearing from you!
